Prerequisites

  • A Merge account with linked HR/HCM accounts
  • An API key from your Merge dashboard
  • Account tokens for the linked accounts you want to connect

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Navigate to Integrations

In your Corelayer dashboard, go to the Integrations page.

2. Add Merge Integration

Click the Add Integration button and select Merge from the list of available integrations.

3. Select Region

Choose the region that matches your Merge account:
  • US — United States
  • EU — Europe
  • APAC — Asia-Pacific

4. Enter Your API Key

In your Merge dashboard:
  1. Navigate to your API key settings
  2. Copy your API key
  3. Paste it into the Corelayer setup form

5. Test Connection

Click Test Connection to verify that Corelayer can access your Merge account.

6. Select Linked Accounts

Once connected, Corelayer will display your available linked accounts:
  • Browse the list of linked HR/HCM accounts
  • Select the accounts you want Corelayer to access

7. Verify Account Tokens

For each selected linked account, provide the account token:
  • Enter tokens manually for each account, or
  • Use the CSV import option to bulk-import tokens using the provided template

8. Configure Webhook (Optional)

Optionally, set up a webhook to receive real-time updates from Merge:
  1. Corelayer will provide a webhook URL
  2. Configure this URL in your Merge dashboard
  3. Enter the webhook signing secret in Corelayer

What Corelayer Can Do With Merge

Once connected, Corelayer will:
  • Access HR/HCM platform data through Merge’s unified API
  • Use employee and organizational data as context during debugging
  • Correlate HR system data with other integrations for comprehensive analysis

Managing Your Integration

Disconnecting

To disconnect your Merge integration:
  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations
  2. Find your Merge integration and click Uninstall
  3. Confirm the uninstallation
  4. Optionally, revoke the API key in your Merge dashboard

Troubleshooting

Integration Not Working?

  • Verify your API key is correct and active
  • Ensure the selected region matches your Merge account configuration
  • Check that the account tokens are valid for each linked account
  • Confirm your linked accounts are active in Merge
